Funky India
An independent travel guide to India — cities, monuments, beaches, mountains, food. Built editorially, not algorithmically. Free to use. Funded by hotel affiliate links that you can ignore.
Why FI
Most India guides are either travel-blog noise or aggregator chaff. FI is the opposite: a small, finite index of places worth your time, with the boring practical detail in one place — entry fees, opening hours, the best season to go, and what a stay actually costs across the three big booking sites.
We picked cities as the unit of organisation because that's how India actually works for a visitor: you base in a city, you sleep in a hotel, you spend days on sights. Lists give you the cross-cuts — "best hill stations", "monsoon escapes", "long temple weekends" — and the scroller is the place to wander when you don't know what you're looking for.
How we curate
Every city, sight, and stay on FI is selected manually. The rating is editorial, not crowdsourced. The blurb is short on purpose — if we wanted to write 2,000 words on Jaipur, we'd write a magazine piece. We don't accept paid placement and the lists are not sponsored.
Full methodology is on the methodology page.

Editorial blurbs draw on Wikipedia and Wikivoyage (both CC-BY-SA). Photos are from Unsplash with credit going to the original photographers (visible in image attributes). Hotel prices are live from Booking, Expedia and Agoda via affiliate links. We get a small commission if you book; you pay the same price either way.
